Composite Mats Protect Northeastern University’s Matthews Arena During Renovations

The comprehensive renovation to Northeastern University’s historic Matthews Arena, the original home of the Boston Bruins, included upgrades of the men’s and women’s locker rooms, sports medicine area, and strength and conditioning equipment spaces. New seating, scoreboard, sound system, arena lighting, and a sprinkler system were also added added. To support the heavy cranes and lift equipment that were brought onto the arena floor, and to protect the underlying infrastructure from damage, 16,000 square feet of Matrax heavy duty composite matting was installed.
